Last Minute Adjustment: Snaarmaarwaar to Perform with an Adapted Line-up

For nearly 20 years, the men of Snaarmaarwaar have been touring non-stop, playing venues and stages at home and abroad. One guitar, one mandola, and one mandolin. A set of spare strings and an incredible passion for playing: that's all they need to spark the magical live connection time and again with their inspiring tunes.

Unfortunately, we have to announce that guitarist Jeroen Geerinck had an accident while working on renovations. He fell off a ladder and broke his wrist and a rib. Despite this setback, Snaarmaarwaar will not miss the festival! The band will perform with an adapted line-up and is determined to enchant the audience with their signature string sound.

Their latest album, ‘LYS,’ refers to the winding path their music has taken them on, much like the meandering Leie river between Ghent and Deinze. This album is a ‘retour à la source,’ a rediscovery of the mysterious way their string sounds blend together until you can no longer tell who’s playing which riff or launching which melody. The album was recorded old-school style at Studio Trad: three men around a microphone, just playing. ‘LYS’ is characterized by the simplicity and refined string sound they’ve long been known for.

Let yourself be carried away by the acoustic experience with which these gentlemen, even in an unexpected line-up, will fill the room—and your heart. Don’t miss the magical festival finale with Snaarmaarwaar on Sunday!
